Communication & Public Relations Department

The Communication and Public Relations Department at Qatar University serves as the official entity responsible for managing communication between the University and its diverse audiences, including students, faculty, staff, media representatives, and the wider community. The Department is entrusted with managing the University’s reputation and public image, enhancing its media presence, and conveying its achievements to stakeholders locally and internationally.

The Communication and Public Relations Department contributes to supporting Qatar University’s vision by strengthening and promoting its institutional image and reputation through the implementation of strategic communication initiatives and the organization of events and activities that highlight the University’s prominence and advance its institutional strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Media Section

Serve as the official point of contact with media representatives on behalf of Qatar University.
Prepare and distribute press releases, media advisories, and official statements.
Coordinate media interviews with Qatar University leadership and official spokespersons.
Organize press conferences and media-related events.
Develop and disseminate University-wide announcements and circulars.
Prepare newsletters and internal communications for University employees.
Manage communication and coordination during crisis situations.
Facilitate the dissemination of messages from the University’s senior leadership to all audiences.

Brand and Visual Identity Section

Maintain and ensure compliance with Qatar University’s brand and visual identity guidelines.
Oversee and update the University’s visual identity system when needed.
Manage brand licensing and ensure adherence to related policies and procedures.
Develop marketing and promotional materials that reflect the University’s identity and reputation.

Events and Protocol Section

Plan and organize the University’s official and institutional events.
Supervise the implementation of protocol and hospitality procedures during events.
Coordinate the participation of Qatar University leadership in internal and external events.
Collaborate with colleges, departments, and centers to standardize event organization practices.
Manage the University’s annual events calendar.
Oversee the preparation of invitations, printed materials, and event giveaways.
Organize official reception and farewell ceremonies for dignitaries and guests.
Document University events in collaboration with relevant sections.
Ensure the University’s representation follows official protocol standards at national and international occasions.
